The largest furniture store in the Czech Republic has done a bad thing. Customers can’t believe their eyes

A number of customers who enjoyed visiting the IKEA store chain today say it’s not the same there anymore, and they also look more often at the competition, which has clearly lost to this giant so far.

It is no longer what it used to be

However, IKEA has already run into some problems in the past couple of years, when it has been plagued by blockages and logistical difficulties. When people picked a product in-store, they often found that it wasn’t in stock at all and wouldn’t be there for six months or more. At the same time, it was a considerable amount of goods, the orders spoke unofficially up to half of the entire assortment.

As soon as these problems have been solved, although there is still a lot missing in these department stores, there are already other problems. And they are already literally discouraging customers. “I liked going here, there was cheap and nice furniture. Recently, however, they have become very expensive and the quality is no longer up to par,”Evaluates Ms. Dana as she walks through the IKEA showroom in Černé most in Prague.

What he hears has a simple calculation. As an IKEA spokesperson reports to the E15 newspaper, after the price hike of around ten percent last year, there has now been another wave of price hikes, which, however, are already counted in tens of percent. , and this is on average.

Brutal price increase

Some goods thus became more expensive by twenty percent, but others by half. And the Czech market is still doing relatively well. For example, in Canada, this furniture chain has raised prices by 110% and in Great Britain by 80%. In these countries, furniture prices have substantially doubled.

At the same time, it is not excluded that the next wave of price hikes will not hit the Czech Republic as well. If IKEA finds that customers are willing to buy even at these higher prices, it can try to take them to the next level.

The chain manager himself has already stated that the time when prices in IKEA stores were very stable is over. This is said to be no longer sustainable at the moment.
