The largest floating library in the world is moored in the port of Beirut

After its first visit in 2010, the ship “Logos Hope”, considered the largest floating library in the world, docks in the port of Beirut, carrying 5,000 books on board.

The “logos hope” ship, the largest floating library in the world, docked on Friday at the port of Beirut, was carrying 5,000 books and 400 volunteers of 70 nationalities, “their goal is to share knowledge, help and inspire hope in souls”, according to announced by the curators.

The library ship is the largest floating book exhibition in the world, and is one of the ships in the fleet of the GBA charity. The fleet’s voyages began in 1970, and over the course of half a century, the organization has hosted multiple of 45 million visitors on its ships, in more than 150 countries and territories around the world.

The doors of the floating library will be open to Lebanese, students and reading enthusiasts from 9 am to 10 pm until January 3, 2023.

It should be noted that this is not the first time this ship has visited Lebanon, as it previously docked in the port of Beirut in 2010.
