More than 100 firefighters attended the scene
The largest cylindrical aquarium in the world has broken into a Berlin hotel and flooded one of the city’s central avenues. Two people were injured in the crash, Deutsche Welle said. More than 100 firefighters responded to the call.
“The aquarium is damaged, the water is leaking. The situation is currently unclear,” the Berlin fire brigade wrote on Twitter.
At around 05:45 a loud crash was heard, after which parts of the building’s facade flew into the street. The water started to flow.
The aquarium houses approximately 1,500 species of tropical fish.
