The world’s largest collection of Pokémon-themed video games, trading cards, stuffed animals and more is up for auction at Hansons Auctioneersa British auction house.
According to BBC news, a woman who wants to remain anonymous and resident in Hertfordshire (England) will auction more than 20,000 items in a “single lot” in the middle of this month, on 18 October. The local auction company he believes that the collection could reach 300,000 pounds (about 350,000 euros at current exchange rates).
The collection includes thousands of soft toys, figurines, video games from all editions and a multitude of merchandise and images derived from the Game Freak and The Pokémon Company franchise. The value of many pieces in the developer, such as the collection of all Charizard cards from the first edition of the Pokémon TCG, some of the most valuable and sold for small fortunes every time they appear.
The seller claims she is leaving the collection for “economic reasons”, although she intends to keep some objects of sentimental value. The Guinness World Record certificate accompanying the collection will be displayed at a pop culture show at the Hertford Museum.
