Puerto Vallarta, Jal. With a green and yellow dress, with a huge hat and 28.15 meters tall, Catrina already adorns the Puerto Vallarta boardwalk, as part of the Day of the Dead Festival called “Remember Me” that started this Thursday.
This is the third time that the largest Catrina in the world has held the Guinness record since 2023 and that in 2024 she will not seek a new feat. “She looks beautiful, she is very well made,” said a couple of national tourists while taking a photo.
Many national and foreign tourists who walk along this boardwalk, adorned by more than half a dozen marigolds, stop to take a selfie with it in the background or simply a souvenir image with the largest Catrina in the world.
Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, director of the Puerto Vallarta Trust for the Promotion and Tourism Advertising of Puerto Vallarta (FITUR), stated that in 2023 a record of 2.5 million visits will be achieved on La Catrina‘s social networks.
He added that this 2024 it is intended that the figure will exceed 3 million on social networks. He also estimated that about 13 to 15 thousand people visited La Catrina on the boardwalk years ago, but this 2024 it is expected to increase to 20 thousand.
The Remember Me Festival has been going on for three years and has become a great tourist attraction. For this Friday it was announced that it will be unveiled.
