DUBAI, KOMPAS.com – Piece biggest black diamond in the known world being showcased to the public for the first time in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UEA), Senin (17/1/2022).
This diamond is on display before being auctioned which is expected to touch the price of 5 million United States (US) dollars, or around Rp. 71.6 billion.
“The Enigma” is the name of the rare black carbanado diamond.

Reported by the News Agency AFP, Monday, the diamond is believed to have formed when a meteorite or asteroid hit Earth more than 2.6 billion years ago, according to Sotheby’s jewelry specialist Sophie Stevens.
The 555.55 carat diamond has not been shown by its unnamed owner for the past 20 years.
The shape of this diamond is inspired by the symbol of power and protection in the shape of the Middle Eastern palm, the Hamsa, which is also associated with the number five.
“It’s very different,” Stevens said of the gem, which holds the Guinness World Record for the largest cut diamond.
After being exhibited in Dubai, Enigma will also be brought to Los Angeles and London, before the seven-day online auction begins on February 3, 2022.

Stevens says what Sotheby’s calls a “cosmic miracle” could be great for bitcoin bidders.
“We accept cryptocurrency for diamonds, which we have done for other important diamond stones,” he said.
Last year in Hong Kong, the Key 10138 diamond sold for $12.3 million, paid for in cryptocurrencies.
