The landlord of the Tösstal culture club continues to judge

In December 2020, the cantonal police found around 47 kilograms of cannabis in the Tösstal culture club in Turbenthal during a raid. Two people were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking.

One of them was the host of the restaurant, who also sits on the board of the operating association. In mid-February, the Winterthur district court sentenced him to a conditional prison sentence of nine months.

As the “Landbote” reports, the Supreme Court will soon deal with the case. The man appealed the verdict. The newspaper refers to an inquiry at the district court of Winterthur.

Too vague clues

The innkeeper had demanded an acquittal and around 11,000 francs in damages for the detention before the district court. The public prosecutor pleaded for a conditional prison sentence of 24 months and a fine of 2,500 francs.

The man made a confession while in custody, but retracted it. However, the court did not find this revocation credible.

However, the court did not agree with the prosecutor on two counts. It denied that the innkeeper was also guilty of selling and acting as the head of a gang. There are indications of this, but they are too vague, the judge said at the time.

It is not yet clear when the hearing in the Supreme Court will take place.
