For the eleventh time in a row, the MFG Media and Film Company Baden-Württemberg is bringing the game developers from ‘The Länd’ to Gamescom.
During his tour of Gamescom 2023, Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) made sure to visit the joint stand of Baden-Württemberg – and immerse himself in VR worlds there. Whether that will be the case again this year is an open question.
However, the prerequisites are in place. The games industry from the southwest will once again be represented in the Business Area of Gamescom 2024 (Hall 4.1). Motto: “The Länd – Games Made in Baden-Württemberg”The event is organized by MFG Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with Baden-Württemberg International, the K3 Culture and Creative Industries Office and the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Stuttgart.
The following exhibitors have confirmed their participation at Gamescom 2024:
- b.ReX (Stuttgart)
- GameBoot (Heidelberg)
- kr3m. Media (Karlsruhe)
- LFK (Stuttgart)
- StickyStoneStudio (Gundelfingen)
- Tiny Room Studio (Stuttgart)

There will be a reception with State Secretary Patrick Rapp (CDU) and MFG Managing Director Carl Bergengruen on Thursday (22 August / 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.).
The MFG also coordinates the state’s games funding, which has been increased again for the 2024 season: A total of around €1.2 million is available for the Games BW program.
The largest and most profitable employer in the Baden-Württemberg games industry is the Karlsruhe-based online games company Gameforge, followed by the THQ Nordic subsidiary Black Forest Games in Offenburg.
