Lampung GovernorArinal Djunaidi openly challenges Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim. This challenge began when Nadiem complained to the DPR about the non-operation of face-to-face schools in a number of areas in Lampung.
Minister of Education and Culture, Research and Technology, Nadiem Makarim revealed that there are 12 regions that still prohibit the implementation of face-to-face learning or PTM. In fact, according to Nadiem, the area is considered to have been able to conduct face-to-face schools.
“Of course it’s not evenly distributed at all, each region has a very different percentage of limited PTM, of course there’s a lot of correlation with the pandemic trend in each region or the convenience of the regional government,” said Nadiem in a working meeting with Commission X DPR RI broadcast on the DPR’s YouTube account. , Monday (23/8/2021).
Of the 12 regions that prohibit face-to-face schools, the majority are on the island of Sumatra. Nadiem asked Commission X for help so that the area could immediately implement face-to-face schools.
“There are several regions, Ladies and Gentlemen, members of Commission X, please help. There are some that still prohibit limited PTM, prohibited by the regional government, even though it’s clear they have to start doing it, please,” said Nadiem.
“There is the Riau Archipelago, we ask for your support, Central Java, North Sulawesi, Serang City Government, Gorontalo Provincial Government, Central Lampung Regency Government, Tanggamus Regency Government, North Lampung Regency Government, Waykanan Regency Government, Pesawaran Regency Government, Tulang Bawang Regency Government, and Mesuji Regency Government. it is explicitly prohibited by the local government. Lampung Governor’s Strong Response

The chairman of the Lampung Golkar DPD seemed emotional in responding to questions about Nadiem’s actions in the DPR. In the video clip of the interview that went viral, Arinal even brought up the phrase ancestor.
