It is an essential place of the hospital. In operation since the end of February, the laboratory of the new Epinal hospital (NHE) takes place on level 0 of the hospital structure with a configuration somewhat different from the old space. “It’s better thought out, better thought out at the level of work sectors. It is more functional, ”says Anthony Léon, the head of the laboratory.
–
He continues: “Before, it was less fluid in terms of traffic between the sectors. The desks were also less well placed. Today is more pleasant. “

Marie-Thérèse Triboulot has been a laboratory technician for two and a half years within the establishment. This allows him, like other of his colleagues, to notice some differences between the two laboratories. “It’s less noisy. We now also have clarity, light. Before, we didn’t have windows that looked out, ”she notes before adding:“ It’s always good to have new premises, but we’ve lost our bearings a bit. Getting started is not easy and is done gradually. “

A pneumatic transport system to facilitate exchanges
Apart from this new layout, one of the major evolutions of the laboratory occurs at the level of the interactions which take place between the structure and the different departments of the hospital. A pneumatic transport system effectively ensures the transmission from one department to another of blood samples, blood bags, cytotoxic drugs, documents, instruments, etc. Securely, at any time and at the chosen destination.
All the establishment’s services (emergency, intensive care, resuscitation, operating theaters, pharmacy, etc.) are thus linked to each other thanks to this network of pipes within which tubes are propelled.
–
Small precision, this installation is made up of 31 stations for one kilometer of tube. Anthony Léon explains: “Service personnel are no longer obliged to come and collect samples from the laboratory. This represents a definite time saving. ”
