On February 3, the Ministry of Labor sent a new instruction to the labor inspection services to strengthen support and control over the implementation of teleworking in companies and compliance with preventive measures in the face of Covid .
“Teleworking tasks must be teleworked”
To avoid the exposure of employees to the risk of contamination, the Ministry of Labor recalls that “When tasks can be teleworked, they must be teleworked” whether totally or partially, while retaining the possibility for employees to be present in the company one day per week “To prevent the risk of isolation”.
Reinforced controls
These checks will relate, first of all, “On the conditions of information and consultation of the CSE, on the definition of teleworkable tasks and the practical methods of implementing telework”. Companies in sectors where teleworking is easily applicable but has been less practiced in recent weeks will be contacted in particular, “To ensure that the recommendations of the national protocol are properly implemented”. Additional actions will also be implemented:
- Mobilize the social partners at both regional and departmental level, in order to stress, on the one hand, the issue of recourse to teleworking to avoid a new confinement, and, on the other hand, the importance of involving staff representatives in samiseeneuvre;
- Remind businesses of the help that their occupational health service can provide them with setting up teleworking and preventing related occupational risks (isolation, low back pain, RPS, etc.).
- Remind SMEs of the support that the Regional Agency for the Improvement of Working Conditions (Aract) can provide to facilitate the deployment of teleworking.
- Promote the toll-free number set up by the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Integration to respond to the difficulties encountered by teleworkers (0800 13 00 00, free 24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
For employees whose tasks cannot be completely teleworked, the control officers of the labor inspectorate will verify the correct implementation of the preventive measures prescribed by the health authorities. The points of vigilance will relate in particular to collective premises, employee transport, collective workspaces, accommodation premises, changing rooms and catering.
