This year, the ceremony will take place not in the usual place – in the cinema, but in the premises of the National Film School of the Latvian Academy of Culture. The ceremony will be led by actress Inga Alsiņa-Lasmane and actor Āris Matesovičs.
The whole live ceremony will be available on the portal “lsm.lv” from 7.30 pm. In the first part of the ceremony, the first winners in the film and profession categories will be announced, while LTV1 will join the live broadcast before announcing the winners in the categories that cause the most intrigue each year – the best feature films, outstanding acting and others.
“lsm.lv” live viewers will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the National Film Award together with Daira Āboliņš, look behind the scenes of filmmaking and find out how the nominee feels about announcing the winner before the evening’s most anticipated nomination – “Best Feature Film”.
In total, prizes will be awarded in 21 categories, as well as several special prizes. Cinematographer Kalvi Zalcmanis will be honored for his lifetime contribution to Latvian cinema.
The National Film Prize “Lielais Kristaps” is organized by the Latvian Cinematographers’ Union in cooperation with the National Film Center and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
