The KPK Has Not Found Sufficient Evidence of Ganjar Pranowo’s Involvement in the E-KTP Corruption Case

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is said to have not found enough evidence regarding the involvement of the Governor of Central Java Pranowo reward in the E-KTP corruption case.

“KPK works with two certainty (evidence), so far we have not found any evidence. We cannot designate someone as a suspect without any evidence,” said the chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Firli Bahuri to reporters, Thursday (28/4/2022).

He said the KPK was working in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Firli also doesn’t want the anti-corruption agency to be dragged into irresponsible issues.

“So to this day there is no evidence that the one mentioned earlier (Ganjar) committed a criminal act, if there is we will take it, but until today there is nothing,” he said.

Ganjar is known to have been involved in this case several times.

Most recently, he was reported to the KPK by the Presidium of the National Axis for the Eradication of Corruption (PNPK) on January 6, 2021.

Ganjar also briefly responded to the report when it was confirmed by reporters on January 7, 2021.

“I have to say yes? (What should I say?),” he said.

The E-KTP corruption case is said to have cost the state finances up to Rp. 2.3 trillion and dragged a number of names, one of which was the former Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Setya Novanto.

Novanto was then sentenced to 15 years in prison and required to pay compensation of Rp 66 billion.
