The koruna is the strongest against the dollar in two years

The koruna remains strong against the euro. The exchange rate is 26.21 crowns for one euro. This is a ratio comparable to March this year, when coronavirus measures were taken. Then the koruna’s exchange rate against the euro went down rapidly.

The Czech currency benefits from the dollar, as do others from the development of epidemiological data in the USA, which reduce the value of the US currency. “For the first time since September last year, the euro tested the level of 1.1750 USD / EUR against the dollar,” said Jan Vejmělek, an economist at Komerční banka.

The stock market weakened

The Prague Stock Exchange weakened on Monday, the PX index fell by 0.2 percent to 914.02 points. This is the decline for the fifth trading day in a row. The Austrian titles did not do well, they also lost Moneta Money Bank and ČEZ.

On the other hand, the shares of the technology company Avast closed the session with a profit of almost two percent, and the securities of the operator O2, for example, grew more moderately.
