With just over a week to go before the trade deadline, expect to hear about the New York Knicks all over the place. Already linked to dossiers AND Anunoby et Zach LaVine, among others, the franchise of the Big Apple is in all the rumors. The last draw fell on Saddiq Bey.
From SNY’s Ian Begley, the Knicks are interested in the Pistons winger. However, we do not know how far the discussions went. The track seems credible for the two teams, which are active in their own way as the deadline of February 9 approaches.
Saddiq Bey is averaging 14.6 points and 4.5 rebounds this season, shooting 40.2%, including 34.3% three-pointers. Despite slightly declining numbers in his third year in the NBA, the 2020 10th draft pick retains intriguing potential. He would certainly bring a little more depth to New York, currently 7th in the East.
To recover Bey, the Knicks have several assets that Detroit might be interested in. Cam Reddish (23 years old), out of the rotation, for example acts as a logical candidate for this team in reconstruction. The front office of Leon Rose also has the rounds of draft necessary to make a big hit on the transfer market.
In recent years, the Knicks and Pistons have been recurring transfer partners. With the trade of Derrick Rose in 2021 and the multiple operations of the 2022 draft, the two organizations seem to have established a privileged relationship.
