The Fondation Santé Sud de Lanaudière (FSSL) is proud to announce that $70,000 has been raised as part of its fundraising activity “Défi KM At your own pace”.

The sums raised will be used in particular to finance the Individualized Rehabilitation Program in Oncology (PRIO). This program aims to reduce the pain and stress of patients in remission from cancer with appropriate therapies.
“This solidarity activity brought together nearly 1,000 participants, including 92 teams, who all moved to support the cause,” confirms Patsy Joncas, general manager of the FSSL. “In addition to fundraising and donations, 10 partners funded the kilometers traveled by participants, up to $0.25/km; the whole community got involved. “, she adds.
PRIO has a real impact in the lives of people with cancer, both physically and emotionally. Sophie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 32, was able to benefit from the Program as she entered remission. “I went through about twenty chemotherapy treatments that made me weak, swollen, gain weight. I never would have believed that with this program I would regain, not only my physical abilities, but also my confidence. Thank you, because thanks to you, I am the “Sophie” that I was, but even stronger.”
