The Los Angeles Kings are visiting the San Jose Sharks this evening, and for the occasion, a major surprise would appear on the Kings side. Indeed, according to what journalist Russell Morgan reported via his X accountstar striker Kevin Fiala would be left aside by his coach!
Aged 28, Fiala has produced six points in nine games since the start of the season and is currently fifth among the team’s leading scorers. Columnist Zach Dooley later reportedFiala is left out because he didn’t show up for a team meeting. We can therefore deduce that his purgatory will only last one game and that he should be back in action tomorrow, when his team will receive a visit from the Vegas Golden Knights.
In the tumult, Akil Thomas will play a first match this season. The former second-round pick of the Kings, now 24, had four points, including three goals, in just seven games with the team last season, in addition to producing 46 points in 64 games with the Reign from Ontario, in the AHL. The Kings will try to obtain a sixth victory tonight, having a 5-2-2 record at the start of the season.
