Bahrain’s Prince Khalid, one of King Hamad‘s sons, is at it again and shared photos of his newborn on his social media. Prince Khalid, semi-professional sportsman and president of the High Council of Youth and Sports, gave his father’s first name to his youngest child.

Birth of a new grandson of King Hamad… named Hamad
Prince Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, 35, and his wife Hessa welcomed a new child into their home. The new little sheikh is named Hamad, in honor of his grandfather, King Hamad of Bahrain. Little Hamad was born on October 23, 2024 and joins this blended family. King Hamad had twelve children with four wives. Prince Khalid is one of two sons from his second marriage to Sheikha Sheia.
Prince Khalid, a great sports fan and himself a practitioner of several combat sports, was married from 2011 to 2017 to Princess Sahab bint Abdallah Al Saud, one of the daughters of the former King Abdullah of Arabia Saudi. Together they have two sons, Princes Faisal and Abdullah. Prince Khalid married his second cousin, Sheikha Hessa bint Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, on July 7, 2017. Sheikha Hessa is the daughter of Prince Mohammed, one of King Hamad’s brothers.

The couple had a first daughter, Princess Munirah, born on April 4, 2018. Triplets were then born: Princes Nasser, Salman and Issa, on July 2, 2021. official press release of the Bahraini government had announced the birth of triplets but since then, only Nasser and Salman appear in the photos shared by Prince Khalid on social networks. It appears that Issa died shortly after birth although no information has been shared on this matter.

Prince Khalid was happy to share photos of his newborn this week, amassing tens of thousands of likes on his Instagram posts. The prince is followed by more than 420,000 subscribers on Instagram. Prince Hamad notably dressed his son in a yellow jersey from the Al Khaldiya football club. Prince Khalid founded a futsal championship and several football cups. A horse race for the disabled was also named in his name. The prince is also involved in combat sports, frequently competing in MMA fights. Since 2010, the prince has been the president of the High Council for Youth and Sports. He is also president of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. As the 5th son of King Hamad, he currently occupies 9th place in the line of succession to the throne. His half-brother, Crown Prince Salman, is the current heir to the throne.
