The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Provides $75 Million to Rebuild and Rehabilitate St. Jude Hospital in St. Lucia

The Kingdom provided the State of Saint Lucia with $75 million in support to finance the health sector, especially the project to rebuild and rehabilitate St. Jude Hospital.

The agreement, which was signed by the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan Al-Murshed, with the Prime Minister of St. Lucia, Philippe Pierre, comes in response from the Fund to the urgent need to rehabilitate the hospital, after stopping it for 3 years from 2016 AD until 2019 AD.

The funding came to provide an integrated medical facility with a capacity of 100 medical beds, to renovate the hospital wards, and equip it with the latest medical equipment and facilities to include a pharmacy, maternity wards, accident and emergency department, and surgical operating rooms, as well as limiting the spread of epidemics and chronic diseases in St. Lucia.

Since its inception in 1975, the Fund has implemented more than 700 projects and development programs in 89 countries around the world.
