The Czech football representative Alex Král first played for the English West Ham United. The London team won the third round of the League Cup at Manchester United 1-0 and repaid Sunday’s Premier League loss.
Midfielder King, who came to West Ham at the end of August from Spartak Moscow for a one-year guest appearance with a mandatory option, played the entire match and helped advance to the round of 16.
The guests were given in the 9th minute by Manuel Lanzini, who after the penetration of Ryan Fredericks sent the ball into the open goal. Fredericks was injured shortly afterwards and was replaced by Vladimír Coufal. The third Czech in the West Ham squad, Tomáš Souček, was missing in the nomination for the cup match, as was the Manchester star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The match at Old Trafford was watched by 72,458 spectators. Defender Phil Jones also sat on the home bench, but after a twenty-month absence caused by a knee injury, he has not yet returned to the United team. Jones last played for the “Red Devils” in January 2020, when he participated in a 6-0 victory in the English Cup duel against Tranmere.
