In a press release, Økokrim states that the three, in addition to prison sentences of two years, one year and 120 days, respectively, have been sentenced to confiscation of a total of just over NOK 1.3 million.
– The verdict sends a clear signal that there is a strict reaction against illegal capture, distribution and unregulated handling of food, says police attorney Erlend Stenberg in the press release.
The verdict is part of a larger case complex where Økokrim, together with Finnmark police district and several other police districts, has investigated cases against a network that has fished and passed on illegally caught king crab.
A total of 50 people are covered by the investigation, according to Økokrim.
The verdict is not final.
