Today, on May 17, the spring voting of the Latvian Public Media Annual Award in Culture “Kilograms of Culture 2021” has started.

As last year, this year the nominees and listeners will nominate the nominees in three votes. You can vote on the site http://kgkulturas.lsm.lv until May 28 at 23.59.

The jury of social media culture professionals has nominated candidates in seven categories in the spring vote (this time the category “Visual Arts” is not opened). Only one entry from each category – the one with the most public support – will be put to the final vote early next year.

“It must be reconciled that due to the pandemic at the beginning of the year, several cultural fields were not able to function fully. This time we have not opened the category “Visual Arts” in the vote, there are also far fewer events in the field of theater, as several theaters are waiting for the opportunity to play premieres in person. However, despite the difficult situation, the music industry is the most active, providing a number of online concerts, great books are also actively published, there is a lot to evaluate in the category “Heritage”, ”says Ieva Rozentāle, a representative of the jury and head of LTV Culture.
