In Afghanistan’s Ghor province, a woman named Banu Negar was killed in her home in front of her husband and older children. The woman was eight months pregnant and provincialists blame Taliban extremists for such a brutal murder.
As reported BBC edition, a tragic incident took place in the background spontaneous uprisings of Afghan women for their rights… The murdered woman was on maternity leave, but she worked as a warden in one of the prisons.
Representatives of the Islamist organization deny their involvement in this murder and believe that Negar could have been killed because of personal grievances, especially given that the country announced mass amnesty of convicts.
“We are aware of this incident. The district authorities have already launched an investigation to find the perpetrators. None of the Taliban members have anything to do with this crime,” Zabiullah Mujahid, a spokeswoman for the extremists, said.
The relatives of the deceased woman said that three men, speaking Arabic, broke into their house the day before. They tied up all the family members, so they could not prevent the torture and murder of Negar in any way. Relatives provided the journalists with images showing blood splatters on the wall in the corner of the room and a body with a severely disfigured face.
