The Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix now has more complete features. Long trips while exploring Sumatra from Jakarta to the Indonesian Kilometer Zero Point in Sabang, Aceh, were still comfortable.
detikOto together with detikTravel and detikFood are back on a road trip titled “Road trip 3,800 Km Jakarta-Aceh with Toyota Innova Zenix” exploring Sumatra. The journey is taken from Jakarta to Sabang as far as 3,800 km.
We started our journey from the detikcom office in the Transmedia Building, Mampang Prapatan, South Jakarta, to Lampung, Palembang (South Sumatra), Muara Bungo (Jambi), Payakumbuh-Bukittinggi (West Sumatra), Balige-Simalungun-Samosir-Medan (North Sumatra) , Lhokseumawe-Banda Aceh and finished at the Indonesian Kilometer Zero Point in Sabang.
During the trip, we were accompanied by a Kijang Innova Zenix type V gasoline unit and a unit of Kijang Innova Zenix type Q Hybrid TSS Modelista, as well as a support car unit.
The Innova Zenix that we tested is equipped with a variety of complete features that spoil the driver and passengers. Anything?
At the front, both Innova Zenix types V and Q are equipped with a 10-inch head unit. What’s more, the head unit can already be connected to Android phones and iPhones. The head unit already has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay features. So, listening to music, opening the digital map application, and even opening WhatsApp messages can be done from the front head unit. The head unit also has the NFC E-Toll Card Checking feature to check e-Money and Flazz electronic money cards.
Especially for the Q hybrid type, there is already a wireless charger feature to recharge wireless cellphone batteries. All you have to do is put the cellphone in the center console box, the cellphone battery can be charged.
Convenience is further supported by Digital Auto AC. AC settings already use digital buttons and can adjust temperature, airflow, and air distribution to the cabin. There is also an Air Purifier for types Q and V to make the cabin healthier.
To pamper the driver, there is an electric parking brake feature with a brake hold function. Using the handbrake is efortless because all you have to do is press the button in the middle.
Especially for the hybrid version of the Innova Zenix, it already has EV Mode, Eco and Power Mode. The button is in the center near the gear lever. So, you can choose the driving mode as you wish.
Switching to the second row, passengers are pampered with wide legroom, armrest and two entertainment screens. The 10-inch entertainment screen can be operated separately. So, if rear passengers want to watch movies or listen to music by themselves, they can use the entertainment screen. Inside there are various applications, such as music, videos, YouTube, to Netflix.
Especially for the Q type, it is even more comfortable with the presence of a captain seat whose position can be adjusted electrically. Plus there is a leg rest which makes long trips more comfortable.
Safety Features
The safety features of the Innova Zenix are also very complete. Of course there is an airbag in front. Especially for the Q type, side and curtain airbags are added.
Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is a standard feature for all types of Innova Zenix. This system serves to prevent the wheels from slipping.
All Zenix types also have Hill Start Assist. Passing through various steep inclines even though it is safe.
Other standard features include parking sensors, parking cameras (specifically for the Q type, there is an additional panoramic view monitor), to the child restraint system.
There are also advanced Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) features on the Innova Zenix in the Q type. Inside there is a Pre-Collision System (PCS) to prevent frontal collisions, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Departure Alert (LDA) and Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Automatic High Beam (AHB).
All of the TSS features are very useful when used on road trips roaming Sumatra. Moreover, the Automatic High Beam feature on the Sumatra route, which has minimal lighting. This feature switches the headlights automatically to the high beam when the road is dark, and to the low beam when there is another vehicle in front.
