The kid junkies from Bahnhof Zoo are back – as a series – cinema

For 40 years Christiane F. has stood for slipping into the drug scene. On Friday, February 19, Amazon’s series remake of “Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo” starts – heavily polished, but played more strongly.

In 1978 an autobiographical book struck the heart of the prillowering epoch like a rusted knife. That was not enough, in 1981 Ulrich Edel’s film adaptation turned the knife in the wound and shocked parents and a society that couldn’t see when many of their children drowned in the drug environment. “Christiane F. – We children from Bahnhof Zoo” told of twelve, thirteen and fourteen year old girls who no longer dreamed of Bravo stars and ponies, but of suitors and a couple of toads for the next shot in the station toilet. Even Protestant youth centers had lost their innocence. Because that’s where it all started.
