More than one generation of viewers scolds the picture.
The Soviet film industry produced hundreds of films for children every year. And in most cases, young viewers were delighted with the directors’ work, but sometimes they disappointed even the most unpretentious viewers.
So, in 1971, the picture “The Kid and Carlson, who lives on the roof” was released. In the feature film, directed by Margarita Mikaelyan and Valentin Pluchek, the main role was played by Spartak Mishulin, who had been playing Carlson on the theater stage for many years. But the audience was not delighted with the picture. The public criticized Mishulin and the film itself, because the story of Malysh and Carlson does not look natural in the format of a feature film.
And until now, the audience actively scold the picture. In their opinion, the work of Mikaelyan and Pluchek could not have been corrected, and Mishulin’s game looks natural only in the theater.
“Some kind of insecure, ingratiating adult man, not much ahead of the development of the Kid”, “It’s disgusting to look at such Carlson!”, “As a child, Mishulin in the role of Carlson wildly annoyed with his constant stuttering, unnatural make-up, fuss”, – subscribers think Day– channel.
