The modernized Kia Stinger will be available on European markets exclusively with the 3.3 T-GDI six-cylinder fork. The clients themselves are to blame.

The Kia Stinger has been on sale since 2017, so even though it looks fresh even after years, it has to adapt to the times, so this year it comes in a modernized form. The Stinger facelift was introduced for the first time in the summer, but now a version for Europe is introduced, where the car serves as the flagship of the brand. And with that comes one good news.
The Korean carmaker has announced that the modernized Stinger will be available on European markets exclusively with a top-of-the-line double-cylinder six-cylinder fork. If other manufacturers cut the strongest units from the offer due to fleet emissions, Kia goes against the trend and, conversely, completely eliminates four-cylinder engines from Stinger’s European portfolio, as petrol 2.0 T-GDI (180 kW), diesel 2.2 CRDi (147 kW). The customers themselves decided on this step, Kia claims that most of those interested in the Stinger opted for the six-cylinder at its launch.
The 3.3 T-GDI V6 engine comes in an innovated form. Over the years, it has slightly deteriorated in performance from the original 272 kW to 269 kW due to “emission adjustments” caused, for example, by the installation of a particulate filter. However, it now returns to the original value. In our country, the six-cylinder will continue to be exclusively available in combination with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The second important change is then found inside. Although the architecture of the cabin has been preserved, a new touch screen with a diagonal of 10.25 “, supplied as standard, has found a new place here. The system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto technologies as standard, including voice control of a number of on-board functions – such as heating, air conditioning, audio system or navigation. There is also a Bluetooth multi-connection function that allows you to connect two mobile devices at the same time – one for hands-free calling and multimedia and the other for media playback.

Also new is the digital instrument panel with a diagonal of seven inches. Kia promises fine graphics as well as various graphics modes according to the selected driving mode.
In addition, Kia has expanded its range of assistance systems and innovated existing ones. A novelty is the need for a safe exit from the car, which recognizes vehicles coming from behind and warns passengers audibly and visually if they try to open the door despite the approaching vehicle. The rear passenger warning, in turn, warns the driver if a child or pet is left in the vehicle due to distractions. There is also a new assistant for driving on the highway, which maintains a preset distance from the vehicle in front and keeps the car in the middle of the lane.
On the contrary, the exterior design has changed only subtly. At the front we find new LED reflector lights full of refractions and edges for a more modern light signature, while the optically connected tail lights have new graphics.
The modernized Kia Stinger will go on sale in European markets at the turn of the year. By the way, the facelift comes at a time when things are going on with Stinger. Despite the nature of the flagship, the sales are not anything (only about 10,000 cars have been sold in Europe since 2017), so speculates that the Stinger will not end up after a single generation. However, it is also possible to replace it with an electric car.
