The State Security Committee of Belarus is carrying out operational measures to identify and arrest the editors and authors of radical Telegram channels and chats. This was announced by the deputy head of the investigation department of the KGB RB Konstantin Bychek, speaking on the air of the Belarus-1 TV channel.
According to a high-ranking representative of the Belarusian special services, the security agencies managed to establish the identities of the participants in the radical chats. Now counterintelligence officers are engaged in searches and arrests of radicals.
Each participant in the chats will be checked for involvement in mass riots and other criminal activities, according to the KGB of the republic.
Earlier it became known about the detention of the editor of the newspaper “Nasha Niva”. The organizer of the Nexta Telegram channel, Roman Protasevich, has long been under house arrest.
