The key to eradicating corruption, Hardjuno Wiwoho urges the DPR to immediately pass the asset allocation bill

FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The commitment of the government and the DPR to the agenda to eradicate corruption is again questioned by the public as the attitude of the two state institutions remains uncertain about the issuance of the Appropriation Bill.

In fact, the Asset Forfeiture Bill is very important because it acts as a legal instrument that becomes a sledgehammer to eradicate corruption in Indonesia.

So, legal observer Dr. (Cand.) Hardjuno Wiwoho urges the government and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI) to ratify the Assets Liability Bill into law.

The reason is, this law will later become a legal instrument that can unravel and be solved the tangled threads of corruption cases that are happening in this country. With this regulation, the state can seize assets derived from criminal activities and damage the state’s finances without waiting for proof of the crime.

“Why is it necessary to pass this Funds Transfer Bill immediately? “Because the Asset Forfeiture Bill is an instrument that makes it easier for law enforcement officers to uphold justice and support the agenda of eradicating corruption and economic crime in the country,” he explained.

Hardjuno explained that this was part of a major effort to recover as much as possible from state losses due to criminal acts of corruption.

In addition, the Assets Liability Bill is a mandate following Indonesia’s ratification of the UN Convention on UNCAC (UN Convention against Corruption) which, among other things, governs the provisions of relating to efforts to identify, trace and freeze as well as confiscate criminal money and instruments. acts.
