The Justice Party deprived the former leader Kim Jong-cheol, who sexually harassed Rep. Jang Hye-young of the same party.
After the first meeting of the Justice Party’s Central Party Committee finished on the 28th, through a decision announcement, the contents of the complaint were cited and the expulsion of former CEO Kim was decided. It has been three days since the former CEO Kim resigned from his post.
The decision to expel former CEO Kim from the current committee is the highest level of disciplinary action.
In its decision, the Central Party Committee stated, “This case is sexual violence, is deliberate, and violates the right of sexual self-determination. In terms of behavior, there is a great need for punishment.”
At the same time, ”In view of the Respondent’s position as the Party’s representative, the respondents are particularly required to have strict ethics, the obligation to comply with the Party Constitution and Party Regulations is quite significant, and the social influence of private and public words and actions is greater than that of ordinary Party members. In spite of that, it is acknowledged that he has remarkably neglected his duties and responsibilities as the party’s representative.” He said, “Heavy discipline is inevitable.
An official from the Justice Party said, “This is the end of the disciplinary process for former CEO Kim.”
Earlier, the Justice Party delegation decided on the 25th to remove Kim from the position and file a complaint with the Central Party Committee, which is the party’s disciplinary procedure. Afterwards, the Justice Party established an emergency response meeting consisting of a congressman and a delegation to deal with the case.
The emergency response meeting runs until the next representative is elected. The co-representatives were Kang Eun-mi, the representative of the hospital, and Kim Yoon-ki, the representative of the party.
