In an analysis of the jury votes, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and a partner have revealed that there are irregularities from six countries after the second dress rehearsal for the second semi-final.
The EBU therefore decides, according to the regulations, to reject these votes in collaboration with the company that is responsible for the technical part of the reconciliation.
The votes from these countries were therefore calculated on the basis of the results from other countries with similar voting, the EBU states in a press release. It is not stated which countries are involved.
This was done both for the second semifinal which was held on Thursday, and for Saturday’s final.
This procedure was approved by the Independent Voting Monitor – which is an independent voting observer.
The EBU takes all attempts to manipulate the votes in the Eurovision Song Constest extremely seriously and reserves the right to remove such votes in accordance with the official voting rules, regardless of whether these votes affect the result or outcome of the vote, the press release states.
