Julich / Aachen The Jülich judo club, together with other clubs, receives the “Sports Stars” award. The German Olympic Sports Association and Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken reward clubs for their special social commitment.

With the “Stars of Sport” award, the focus is not on sport but on social performance. In the region, the women’s and women’s football clubs Jülich Judoclub, Boxclub Helios Aachen and TSV Alemannia have been awarded bronze “Sports Stars” by the Aachener Bank.
All clubs belonging to the German Olympic Sports Confederation have the opportunity to apply for “Sports Stars”. The Jülich Judo Club took first place this year, receiving a prize pool of 1,500 euros. With a flyer campaign, the association reached more than 400 young people, who were able to participate for free in the training session for a period of eight weeks.

A five-person jury composed of Guido Diefenthal, former president of RC Zugvogel, Thomas Thelen, editor-in-chief of Medienhaus Aachen, Björn Jansen, president of Stadtsportbund Aachen, Ewald Gangolf, managing director of RegioMedien AG and Peter Jorias, member of the board of directors of Aachener Bank has decided on the placements.
