The Judiciary granted seven months of preventive detention against a police officer who allegedly shot and killed a colleague in Piura

The Second Provincial Corporate Criminal Prosecutor’s Office of Castilla (Second Office) obtained seven months of preventive detention against police officer Chayanne Davids Jordi Chinguel Rojas (24) as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of qualified homicide, to the detriment of his colleague Danfer Elian Camacho Jabo.

The events occurred on April 13, when the accused, assigned to the Paita Sector Police Station, and the injured party, assigned to the Bellavista Police Station, were sharing a few beers on their day off, in the middle of which Chinguel Rojas shot his colleague. on the chest.

After the death of the victim was confirmed at the Tacalá health center in Castilla, the accused gave different versions of what had happened, adding to this that, upon arriving at his home for the legal investigations, the authorities found indications that the incident would have occurred in said property.

Among the elements that supported the serious and well-founded elements of conviction that link the investigated person with the crime were: the records of police intervention, removal of the body, collection of species, seizure and sealing of a cell phone; as well as personal and photographic records.

Likewise, the record of the investigation’s domiciliary verification, discovery and collection of ballistic evidence; as well as the expert reports of criminalistic investigation, forensic ballistics; witness statements; among others.

The representative of the Public Ministry, María Lazo Alburqueque, will appeal the decision at the end of time, since she considers it necessary for the accused to serve nine months of preventive detention, in order to ensure his presence and participation in all the proceedings that he will carry out during the investigation.
