According to Israeli media, 130 officers and reservists from a special missions unit in the Israeli occupation army inform the Minister of Security that they find it difficult to serve in the event of judicial amendments.
Israeli media reported that 130 officers and reservists from the “Yahloum” engineering unit for special missions in the “Israeli” occupation army, signed a letter informing the Minister of Security in the occupation government, Yoav Gallant, that “they find it difficult to serve if the judicial amendments are approved.”
Last Tuesday, the Israeli Knesset approved the first reading of the draft “Judicial Amendments Law”, and in its first text it states that the Supreme Court of Occupation is not qualified to annul any amendment to the Basic Laws.
As for the second text, it is represented by the introduction of the “exception” clause that allows the Knesset to cancel some decisions of the Supreme Court, by a simple majority of 61 votes out of 120 members of Parliament.
The Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper stated on its website that the draft law “provides to change the mechanism for forming a committee for selecting judges, so that the government coalition has complete control over it.”

The internal Israeli dispute over the judicial plan is exacerbating, while the political protest against it is escalating in the Knesset and in the street.
Until this moment, thousands in the reserve service have signed petitions warning that they will not join the reserve if the judicial amendments desired by the Prime Minister of the occupation, Benjamin Netanyahu, pass.
About 2,000 reservists demonstrated in occupied Jerusalem during the month of February against the judicial amendments.
In this context, hundreds of reserve officers in Military Intelligence Unit “8200” in the “army” of the occupation warned that they “will not volunteer to perform service if the judicial amendment plan” adopted by the Netanyahu government is passed.
More than 100 officers and fighters in the “Special Operations System” affiliated with Military Intelligence, including major generals, signed a petition in which they warned: “If the legislation continues, we will not continue to serve, and we will not serve in the reserves after that.”
There is concern among the occupation army about a serious crisis in the reserve apparatus.
Galant stated that every call to refuse to serve in the “army” of the occupation is an attack on the security of “Israel”.
For his part, the former Israeli Minister of Security, Omer Bar-Lev, stated that stopping service in the reserves is possible if what he called the “judicial revolution” is approved.

Mark Milley Arrives in the Occupied Palestinian Territories to Discuss “Regional Challenges”
This comes in conjunction with the arrival of the head of the joint US armies, General Mark Milley, to the occupied Palestinian territories to discuss “regional challenges and opportunities for cooperation and coordination between the two armies.”
During his visit, Milley will meet with the Israeli Chief of Staff, Herzi Halevi, and plans to meet with the Minister of Defense and senior officials of the security establishment.
The head of the Israeli opposition, Yair Lapid, had previously warned that “passing the judicial amendments law would make Israel lose the United States and harm the economy,” stressing that “Washington is terrified of what is happening in Israel.”
Netanyahu’s judicial project received “words of warning from US President Joe Biden’s administration and pro-Israel members of the US Congress.”
The Washington Post said, “The Netanyahu government, in its aggressive assaults on the courts, the media, and other democratic institutions, and in its incendiary rhetoric toward the Palestinians, along with its indulgence towards settlers, risks severing ties with its staunchest supporters.”
