The judge opens proceedings for the ‘Febles Campos case’ | Radio Club Tenerife | Present

The magistrate of the Court of Instruction Number 4 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, María de los Ángeles Lorenzo-Cáceres y Farizo has issued an order that opens preliminary proceedings for the possible existence of a crime of administrative prevarication by the Governing Council of the Institute Social and Socio-health

The judicial order, last Monday, is issued as a result of the criminal complaint presented by the IASS sole works committee and the Canary Islands Workers’ Assembly Union against the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, and several councilors. Thus, the court investigates Pedro Martín, the vice president, Enrique Arriaga, the president of the IASS Governing Council, Marian Franquet, the manager, Yazmina León, the island councilors Nauzet Gugliotta, Miguel Montero, Ignacio Rodríguez, Isabel León and a representative of the Clece company and another from the Bishopric of Tenerife. In addition, the company, in charge of the sublease, and the bishopric itself are cited as investigated. According to the complaint from the works council, the amount that the Cabildo will pay to the company for the management of the spaces in the seminary for 10 years – almost one million euros – is much higher than the canon that the company will pay to the Bishopric. The island government has declined to make assessments in this regard.
