The magistrate of Court Number 6 of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Noelia Gallo, has u dictatedna sentence ordering the reinstatement of the mayor in the capital city council Evelyn Alonso in the ranks of Citizens, as has advanced Canary Time. In this way, the judge considers that the expulsion of Alonso from the orange formation was to goregulate since “all contradictory proceedings were dispensed with and it was adopted by an incompetent body” omitting, he continues, “all motivation and challenge phase of the agreement before endowing it with enforceability.” For all these reasons, the magistrate orders the restitution of all the rights of which Alonso and condemns Citizens to pay the procedural costs.
The sentence comes after Ciudadanos It was in agreement and, therefore, acquiescing to the request made by Evelyn Alonso before the court. With this judicial decision, Alonso can once again be part of Ciudadanos y recover the government areas in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife town hall, a fact that was already made effective in a plenary session held on April 7, in which Alonso went from being a non-attached mayor to being part of the Mixed group, in compliance with an order of precautionary measures. Alonso was expelled from Cuidadanos after supporting the motion of censure against the socialist mayor, Patricia Hernández in favor of the current mayor of the Canary Islands Coalition, José Manuel Bermúdez.
