The judge allows activists to receive food in the cranes of La Tejita | Radio Club Tenerife | Present

An order of the Court of First Instance of Granadilla de Abona allows that aid and food can be offered to the two activists who, since last week, have remained perched on two cranes in protest at the construction of a hotel in the area of La Tejita. As reported by the spokesperson for the Salvemos La Tejita Platform, Ana Sabín, at first it was thought that the firefighters would not be able to bring water and food to the two ecologists because the company promoting the hotel’s works had asked the judge to not done. However, the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands (TSJC) has clarified that at no time does the court order prohibit providing such help. In this sense, last Thursday, the firefighters accessed the top of the cranes to provide the activists with water and food, as well as other items to improve their safety. At this point, the firefighters have shown their concern due to the meteorological conditions in the area marked by recent rains and strong gusts of wind that can endanger the stability of the cranes and, therefore, compromise the safety of both activists. This Saturday at 5:00 p.m. a protest demonstration against the construction of the hotel is scheduled.
