ALGIERS – The two Algerian representatives in the Football Confederation Cup (CAF): ES Sétif and JS Kabylie, experienced varying fortunes on the occasion of the third day of the group stage, played on Sunday.

If the Entente, housed in group A, seriously compromised its chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the event, the JSK, undefeated so far in group B, took a step to validate its ticket for the next round.
Leader of the Ligue 1 championship, the ESS, as paradoxical as it may seem, does not experience the same success in African competition. The players of Tunisian coach Nabil Kouki lost in Aba to Nigerians Enyimba (2-1), while they led in the score from the 13th minute, thanks to a realization of the young player Moncef Bekrar.
This is the second loss in a row conceded by ESS, after that suffered in Cairo against Libyans Ahly Benghazi (1-0). A setback too much that makes the Sétif club stuck in 4th and last place in its group with only 1 point.
Amir Karaoui’s teammates will have to make a real “comeback” during the second part of the group stage, to hope to be among the qualified teams, and to continue his adventure in this event, whose trophy is the only one that still leaks the rich track record of the ESS.

For its part, the JSK carried out a good operation, by winning a precious point on the move against the Moroccans of RS Berkane (0-0), holder of the trophy in the previous edition.
Even if they were dislodged from their place of leader, to the detriment of the victory of the Cameroonians of Coton Sport in Zambia against the NAPSA Stars (1-0), the “Canaries” have five points on the clock, at a length of Cotton Sport.
The players of French coach Denis Lavagne will have to win on Matchday 4 against RS Berkane, to get closer to the quarter-finals and avoid any unpleasant surprises.
As a reminder, the 4th day of the group stage will be played on Sunday 11 April.
