Ethe journalist Toni Padilla presented his latest book this Friday ‘The historian in the stadium ‘ in the restaurant of The English Court, in what the national premiere from the book. In addition, once the presentation is finished, the author signed the first copies for sale to those attending the event.
Issues as disparate as the ‘derby’ in Jordan, the Catholic relationship of Celtic Glasgow or the reality of women’s football in Afghanistan, were some of those that arose thanks to the questions of the many Salamancans who came yesterday to listen to Toni Padilla. The author, who defended that “you have to take the drama out of talking about politics and football, because politics is everywhere and, of course, in football “, he also stressed that”sometimes football is the only chance of victory for countries that have lost wars, for abandoned or marginalized communities or for immigrants who have been forced to leave their lives behind in their countries of origin ”.

Toni Padilla
Born in Sabadell, Toni Padilla is a journalist and historian. He has directed the sports section from the newspaper NOW, participate in programs and broadcasts of Goal TV and Movistar and collaborates in media such as Catalunya Ràdio, RAC1 O TV3. He is also one of the founders of the magazine Doll and the project Marcadorint.com. In addition, he is a professor of the Master in Sports Journalism at the Blanquerna-Ramón Llull University and, since this year, of the Master in Sports Communication at the Pontifical University of Salamanca.
