the journalist died Giampaolo Pansa, he was 84 years old. Father of the Bestiary, Pansa had started writing on the Corriere della Sera last September. For the journalist – born in Casale Monferrato in October 1935 – the one at Courier service it had been a return after the five-year period 1973-1977. Pansa was one of the reporters and commentators best known to Italian readers: since 1961 – when he got his first journalistic contract in the press – he has told how nobody (and how nobody whipped) the society and politics of our country. He did so by finding scoops (starting from the Lockheed scandal), inventing locutions and names that entered history rightly (one for all: the White Whale), interviewing the protagonists (at Courier service, and to Pansa, Enrico Berlinguer delivered the sentences with which he clarified that he did not want Italy to leave NATO) and describing the bestiary (another lexical invention of his) of our political scene.
