“Taking into account the security and defense interests of all Member States, the European Council welcomes the agreement reached in the Council on the urgent supply of surface-to-surface and artillery ammunition to Ukraine, as well as, if necessary, rockets,” the European Council concluded on Ukraine.
At the same time, the ministry clarified that such deliveries will take place through joint purchases and mobilization of appropriate funding, including through the European Peace Fund.
Also, the leaders of the EU countries reaffirmed their commitment to introducing new restrictions against Russia and continuing to work on the oil price limit of the aggressor country. They supported the creation of a special tribunal for the Russian Federation, which will consider crimes of aggression.
“The European Council reiterates the full support of the EU for the creation of an international mechanism for registering the damage caused by Russia. Together with partners, the European Union will continue to intensify work on the use of frozen and immobilized Russian assets to restore Ukraine,” the document says.
At the same time, the European Council emphasized the intensification of work with partners to counter false Russian narratives and disinformation about the war.
The ministry supported Ukraine’s efforts to join the European Union and positively assessed the implementation of the necessary reforms.
