The Jennifer Pan Case: A Shocking Murder Plot Unveiled

What is the Jennifer Pan case about?

On November 8, 2010, 911 operators receive a disturbing call. A woman named Jennifer Pan says her parents’ home has just been broken into. The burglars allegedly asked for money and shot her parents. Remarkably, Jennifer escapes unscathed and is only tied up. Her mother appears to have died immediately from her gunshot wound, while her father is miraculously still alive. He is immediately taken to the hospital.

At first it seems that the Pan family has been randomly selected by the burglars, but officers soon begin to distrust Jennifer when a neighbor’s camera shows that the three men simply entered through the front door, without actually entering. break.

Why did Jennifer want to kill her parents?

At the time of her mother’s murder, Jennifer was living with her parents. Her parents assumed that Jennifer had graduated from high school and was busy studying. Jennifer convinced her parents that she attended Toronto Metropolitan University and even had her parents drop her off at the school. Jennifer’s father hoped she would become a pharmacist, while her mother hoped she would become a famous pianist. However, Jennifer had very different plans.

When her parents thought she was busy studying, she spent time with her boyfriend Daniel Wong, a drug dealer with a hefty criminal record. Her parents had previously heard about the relationship and when they found out that their daughter was not studying at all, she was no longer allowed to see Daniel. Jennifer and Daniel are so angry about this that they decide that Huei Han and Bich Ha must die. They want the murder to look like a burglary gone wrong, of which Jennifer is the only witness. For the murder they hire three hitmen, David Mylvaganam, Lenford Crawford and Eric Carty.

The officers themselves soon find out about Jennifer’s lies. When her father wakes up from his coma, he says that it seemed as if his daughter already knew the burglars. The officers confront Jennifer about this and she eventually admits that she hired the men and left the front door open. She gives the story a bizarre twist by claiming that the men were also targeting her, which soon turns out to be untrue. Jennifer was sentenced to life imprisonment in January 2015. Her boyfriend Daniel and hitmen David and Lenford received the same sentence. Eric received the lowest prison sentence: he was sentenced to 18 years in prison and died in his cell in 2018.

How is Jennifer doing now?

Jennifer is currently serving her life sentence at the Grand Valley Institution for Women in Kitchener, Ontario, but will most likely be back in court soon. The sentence she and her co-defendants received is currently being re-examined by the Supreme Court of Canada.

How is Huei Hann, Jennifer’s father, doing now?

Huei Hann was one of the key witnesses during the trial in 2014. He said at the time that he was shot in the head and lost consciousness. When he came to, he found his wife dead on the floor. He also stated that he heard the assassins were talking to his daughter and apparently knew her. “He talked to my daughter. I couldn’t hear what they were saying, but they were talking to each other in low tones,” he said at the time. Huei Hann is currently in his 70s and tries to keep a low profile as much as possible.
