The Jeep Driver Says He Has No Intention To Stop Ambulance In Klaten

Investigators of the Klaten Police Traffic Unit continue to explore the case of a viral video of a jeep called blocking the ambulance carrying the patient. The jeep and ambulance driver as well as the party who recorded the video gave clarification.

Reported detikJatim, the three were present to provide clarification to the police on Friday (17/6/2022). When met on the sidelines of the clarification, the jeep driver, Sumaryanto (43), a resident of Maguwoharjo, Prambanan, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, admitted that he had no intention of blocking the ambulance.

According to him, at that time he was traveling from Prambanan to Jatinom. He admitted that he was confused about choosing the lane when he heard the sound of a siren behind his car.

“I made the wrong decision, I had no intention of blocking the ambulance. I was confused whether to go left or right because there was an ambulance behind me,” Sumaryanto told reporters.

He said he had tried to take the left lane to make way for the ambulance. Sumaryanto also admitted that he had turned on the left turn signal.

“Every time I hear the ambulance siren on the road, I immediately turn left. Yesterday I was confused because an ambulance sounded loud, to the left or to the right I was confused,” continued Sumaryanto.
