The unavailability of production in the new block of Jaworzno Tauron reported Wednesday 12 October, shortly after 1 pm. The event will run until October 17th at 4.00. During this period, the full capacity of the block – 910 MW will not be available.
The reason for the unavailability was provided by the company: “emergency renovation – slag removal and ash removal – trail tear“.
The previous major failure of the blockade occurred in August. Then there was also a problem with the waste remover and tearing off the path. The blockade has stood still for four weeks.
The main contractor of the unit, Rafako, informed at the time that the problems were mainly due to the inadequate quality of the coal going to the boiler. Rafako authorities at the time warned that if the quality of the coal did not improve, similar problems would repeat themselves.
The continued failures of the Jaworzno bloc, costing more than PLN 6 billion, contributed to the restoration of key Tauron executives. In the first place Sebastian Gola, president of the Tauron branch, has lost his position manage the new unit at the Jaworzno power plant. His function was taken over by Paweł Szczeszek, president of Tauron. The vice presidents of Tauron have also lost their positions responsible for the supply of coal to power plants and the operation of generation units.
