The James Webb telescope successfully takes the first pictures of the planet Saturn

Astronomers announced through the James Webb Website that the James Webb Telescope on June 25, 2024 had succeeded in taking an original picture of the planet Saturn in the infrared.

The original pictures of Saturn show that the planet Saturn looks very dark. Because methane gas in Saturn’s atmosphere absorbs sunlight. But the rings of Saturn still appear bright.

According to astronomers, Saturn’s rings are still bright because Saturn’s rings are made up of a series of rock fragments and ice grains of various sizes, from smaller than a grain of sand to some the size of a mountain on Earth.
