The Jakarta-Cikampek Flyover Will Be Equipped With Emergency Parking

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through its subsidiary PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) as the manager Highway Jakarta-Cikampek II (Elevated) built four emergency parking lots (emergency parking bay) to improve road user services.

The work began in August 2020 and is targeted for completion in February 2021.

Fourth emergency parking bay It is located at KM 21 + 000 and KM 41 + 500 for the Cikampek direction and KM 39 + 500 and KM 22 + 500 for the direction of Jakarta.

President Director of PT JJC Vera Kirana explained the location emergency parking bay as an emergency stop and safe zone to wait for assistance from Jasa Marga Mobile Customer Service (MCS) officers.

According to him, every emergency parking bay has the capacity to accommodate up to 6-7 vehicles at the same time.

“Expected emergency parking bay “In the future, vehicles that experience interference will not interfere with the shoulder of the road and main lane, thus avoiding the potential congestion,” Vera said in a written statement, Wednesday (04/11/2020).

Vera said that at the location there will be additional road user service facilities such as the provision of portable toilets which will be applied at certain moments such as the period of homecoming and behind Lebaran or Christmas and New Year.

In addition, Vera said the construction of four emergency parking bay this is more and more complementary emergency plan as a security service at Highway.

Until now, it already exists emergency plan that is, eight emergency opening (median opening), eight emergency acces (emergency stairs), two emergency exit (emergency exit access) located in one lane on each lane towards Jakarta and Cikampek direction.

“To emergency opening equipped with emergency access has been 100 percent completed, while for emergency exit it is still in the design development stage, “he said.

Services on this toll road are also equipped with an operational fleet, namely tow trucks, road patrols, toll road service patrols, rescue, and an ambulance so that toll road users feel safe and comfortable.

Vera added, in building emergency parking bay, his party also always ensures the safety and comfort of road users.

Therefore, at the location of the outer shoulder of the toll road, security will be installed in the form of a barrier of approximately 70 meters which will be implemented in stages in 4 locations from November 2020-January 2021.

Vera ensured that there was no reduction in lane capacity during the construction period. So that on Highway Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated remains fully operational in two lanes per each direction.
