The Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train Route Will Be Continued Until Kertajati Airport. Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The construction of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train is targeted to be completed in 2022.

After the construction is completed next year, the project is planned to continue to Kertajati Airport.

This was revealed by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil in a post on his Instagram account after conducting a direct review of the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train project.

“Progress is around 70 percent. Hopefully it will be completed according to schedule and we can continue this fast train in stage 2 to Kertajati Airport,” said the man who is familiarly called Kang Emil via his account @ridwankamil, Monday (12/4/2021)

In the work inspections at the Padalarang and Tegal Luar locations, also participated by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

Meanwhile, in his official statement, Budi Karya revealed that the construction location under review was Padalarang Station, Tegalluar Station, Tegalluar Rail Transport Depot, and Tegalluar Track Laying facility.

Padalarang Station is an additional station point on the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train route.

This addition is intended to provide better integrated comfort options, because it is located close to Bandung Station.

Then at Tegalluar Station and Tegalluar Rail Transport Depot, development continues, including work on rail installation.

“Until now, the rail transportation process is still ongoing,” said Budi.

Then at the Tegalluar Track Laying which is a supporting facility for rail installation, currently the rail welding process is being carried out, from the initial length of each 50 meters to 500 meters.

Furthermore, the rails that have been connected are transported from track laying facility to the rail installation location on the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train line.

To pursue completion in 2022, the construction of the project by PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) was also carried out not only for the construction of a train line, but simultaneously construction of stations and other supporting facilities.

For your information, the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train is the first fast train project in Indonesia that has been initiated since 2015. The standard speed of this fast train will reach 350 km per hour.

The Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train will cut the time of the two cities to only 40 minutes with a track of 142.3 km, much faster than the travel time of regular trains, which is currently more than 3 hours.
