The Italian club asks FIFA to punish Shakhtar

Shakhtar chief executive Sergei Palkin said one of the Italian clubs, whose name the official chose not to disclose, had appealed to the International Football Federation (FIFA) demanding it punish the Pitmen for allegedly failing to comply with transfer deals.

According to Palkin, before the start of the full-scale stage of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Shakhtar agreed to transfer a player from one of the Italian clubs for about 9 million dollars.

This player did not end up in Ukraine in the end, but asked his former club to cancel the deal with the Pitmen and sell him to another club, but these negotiations stalled.

Subsequently, Shakhtar refused to pay the previously agreed amount, and the Italian club turned to FIFA with a request to punish the Pitmen.

What specific player and club Palkin was talking about remains unclear, as the Shakhtar top manager did not reveal details. However, in December last year, the Italian media actively reported on this Pitmen’s readiness to sign Ivorian full-back Jeremy Bogawho at the time played for Sassuolo, and then moved to Atalanta.
