Sajad Gharibi, better known as the “Iranian Hulk”, unsuccessfully tried to face bodybuilder Martyn Ford in the boxing ring a few months ago. The fact that the Briton backed out of the match at the last minute can be considered very lucky by the Hulk, and he probably would have done better to end his entire wrestling career with it. However, he couldn’t be told and arranged a replacement fig s Jumanov and Almatem Bakhytovichwho, for a change, calls himself the “Kazakh Titan” and is engaged in a similar activity as the Hulk, i.e. influencership on social networks.
The match was covered by the British organization Wicked ‘n’ Bad, so on Sunday evening both “giants” could compete in the P7 Dubai Arena. The arena is rather only in name, because it is a relatively modest space and, according to the footage, only dozens of spectators could watch the entire gala evening directly on the spot.
Hulk entered the ring weighing 140 kg and thus had a barely believable 47 kg advantage over his opponent who weighed only 93 kg. However, as it turned out, weight was not to play much of a role in this encounter. The match was scheduled for six rounds of two minutes each, and both protagonists rather unusually kept their shirts on. Most likely so that these shots are not needlessly confronted with “reality” on Instagram.
No reasonable person could expect any technical boxing, but from the combative expressions of both heroes, the audience could at least look forward to a hearty performance. But there was a big disappointment, because only one of them came to the ring to box. And that was the Titan.
The Kazach landed one of his first punches to the body of the clumsily defending Hulk, and the blow evidently took most of the courage he possessed that evening. As his primary defense he then chose to turn his back to the opponent and dash to his corner. After a moment of this farce, the referee stopped the match for a moment and gave the Hulk some time to recover.
A few extra seconds helped the Hulk a bit, and he seemed determined to face his opponent with dignity. He also dealt a few blows, but the Titan was able to withstand his attacks and was much more accurate himself. A couple of shots taken sent Hulk back into “survival” mode and he turned his back on Kazach once again. A right hook to the head then ended the whole farce. The Iranian Hulk fell to the ground and the referee waved the match off.
Gharibi immediately left the ring and only watched from a distance as the winner was announced. After this performance, it is most likely the end of the connection of the Iranian Hulk with combat sports. We can only hope that Hulk will take his loss in a sporting way, because his mental state during the saga with Martyn Ford was probably very bad, and the humiliating loss to Bakchytovic will definitely not help him.
