According to Ming-Chi Kuo, only the iPhone 14 Pro series will get the new A16 chip.
14 Pro gets A16, mini disappears and there is a new and cheaper 6.7 ″
In that case, this is a completely new strategy for the company, because non-Pro will be equipped with last year’s A15 chip. Interesting, and perhaps not so unexpected: the 15-inch chip is the fastest on the market and also delivers perhaps the very best battery life in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Kuo also believes that there will be the following models this year (note that the 14 Max is brand new, and that the mini is gone):
- iPhone 14 – 6,1″
- iPhone 14 Max – 6,7″
- iPhone 14 Pro – 6,1″
- iPhone 14 Pro Max – 6,7″
All of the new models will “probably” get 6GB of RAM, Kuo reports, ie the same as in today’s 13 Pro models.
The only difference is that the Pro models get LPDDR 5 while the 14 models get LPDDR 4X.
“There will be no major iMac”
In other Apple news, 9to5Mac announces in another exclusive scoop that Apple will not launch a larger iMac than today’s 24 ″. With that, the chance for a Mac Pro with 27 ″ really disappears.
Instead, Apple is offering Mac Studio and Studio Display for those who need the power, and the iMac 24 ″ will probably be upgraded with M2.
Ming-Chi Kuo may or may not believe that the new Mac mini with M2 will be launched this year, and will therefore return to its own report earlier this month.
